National Seminar on Recent Advances &Future Trends in Additive Manufacturing

National Institution for Quality and Reliability, Trivandrum Branch organised a National Seminar on Recent Advances & Future Trends in Additive Manufacturing on 21st and 22nd July 2023 Hotel Residency Tower, Trivandrum.

About the Seminar

Additive Manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is a process of creating three-dimensional objects by adding material layer by layer.  The technology has gained popularity in recent years due to its ability to create complex structures with high precision and accuracy. AM enables the production of customized products that are otherwise difficult or impossible to make with traditional manufacturing techniques. This technology has revolutionised several industries, from aerospace and healthcare to fashion and art. AM has the potential to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and lower costs while offering limitless possibilities for design and functionality. However, challenges still exist in ensuring the quality and reliability of AM products, and certification standards are being developed to ensure that they meet the necessary requirements.

Topics Covered

Ø Basics of AM

Ø AM for Metals &Nonmetals

Ø Design for AM (DfAM)

Ø AM processes modelling and simulation

Ø Post Processing of AM products
