NIQR Chennai Branch started yet another Student Chapter in Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Vinayaka Missions University, Chennai.
Dr. V Swaminathan, National Vice President NIQR, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University Auditorium at 1.00PM on 26th October 2018.
Dr. S. Mohana Murugan welcomed the gathering which included many dignitaries from NIQR, 100 students and 10 staff members.
Dr. M. Ponnavaikko, Provost of the University addressed the students and commended NIQR for the services it was offering through Student Chapters. He asked the students to keenly observe the speeches and lecture from NIQR officials as they will be very useful for their career building.
Prof. C. Uthayakumar, Executive Committee Member, NIQR Chennai Branch was appointed Mentor for the Student Chapter and he assured the students that he is easily reachable for organising any programs. In his address to students, he used a very simple language to reach the students instantly and made them understand more about product quality, Deming Awards, JUSE and TQM.
The Chief Guest, Dr. V Swaminathan spoke about NIQR and its activities especially in the area of industry-institution interaction. He presented the vision, mission and goals of NIQR. He advised the students to make use of opportunities created by NIQR to enhance their knowledge and be in industry ready stage when they leave the institution.
Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar, National Secretary, NIQR gave a special lecture on Industry 4.0 illustrated with lot of videos on the use of technologies required for Smart Manufacturing.
Mr. S. Kalyanakumar, Assistant Professor and Organizing Secretary of the Student Chapter proposed the Vote of Thanks.
