One-Day Workshop on Industry 5.0 – (NIQR Program No. 67) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram
A One-Day Workshop on Industry 5.0 was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), Ramapuram, on 9 January 2026, in association with the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata.
The session was conducted by Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar, National Council Member, NIQR, who delivered an engaging and insightful lecture on the penetration of Industry 5.0 across various sectors. The talk reached over 150 students and faculty members and effectively highlighted the shift towards human-centric, sustainable, and resilient industrial systems, emphasizing the need to balance advanced technologies with societal and environmental value.
The workshop was highly interactive, marked by enthusiastic participation and thoughtful questions from students. The depth of engagement reflected the participants’ keen interest in understanding future industrial paradigms.

A third-year student, Mr. Lokesh, expressed strong interest in presenting a topic on Agriculture 5.0, demonstrating the motivational impact of the session.
A second-year student, Mr. Ashiq, showcased his practical learning by designing a 3D-printed keychain, which he presented at the conclusion of the workshop.
