Annual Competition On Six Sigma Case Study Presentation

NIQR HQ organised the second Competition on Six Sigma Case Study Presentation on 26th Nov 2016 in The Westin Chennai, Velachery.

The program started with invocation song by Mr. S. Murugan, ECM Chennai Branch NIQR. The Chief Guest, MR. S. Rajasekaran, National Vice President NIQR welcomed the participants and inaugurated the competition; he advised the teams to focus on end-customer requirements to achieve the organisation’s vision. Mr. K. Sridharan Balaji, National Secretary NIQR introduced the judges. Program highlights were explained by Dr. A. Sanjeeva Rao, Past National President NIQR and Chief Jury.

The day was full of action with 33 teams from 7 organisations showcasing their case studies. The teams were divided into two groups and the teams made their presentations in two halls. Dr. A. Sanjeeva Rao and Mr. R. Anandakumar were the judges in Hall 1 & Mr. Sampangi Raman and Mr. R. Mohanakrishnan were the judges in Hall 2.

Mr. P. K. Aggarwal, National President NIQR who presided over the valedictory function emphasized upon the need to make “Six Sigma” as a way of approaching the quality improvement activities. To promote this approach, he also suggested bringing some changes in the way we hold this competition like Gemba visit by the jury to witness the actual activity.

Mr. V. Raghavan, Vice Chairman, NIQR Chennai Branch compiled the results from the two streams and finalised the results.

3 teams from Visteon Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., Visteon Technical and Services Centre Pvt. Ltd. and TAFE were adjudged overall best and presented the Platinum Awards. 17 Teams were presented Gold Awards and 12 teams Silver Awards & one team Meritorious Award.
