“Are You Ready?” For Digital Transformation For Student Chapters

NIQR Head Quarters organised an Awareness program on Industry 4.0 on the theme “Are You Ready?” for Digital Transformation on 14th September 2019 at Hotel Radha Regent, Chennai.

The program was organised by NIQR and conducted by C4i4 Lab (Centre for Industry 4.0) of Samarth Udyog Technology Forum, Pune; (Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub).

C4i4 Lab is one of the four Common Engineering Facility Centres across India, an initiative by Department of Heavy Industry, Government of India to promote faster adoption of Industry 4.0.

Our vision is to be recognized as a World Class Centre for promoting innovation & adoption of Industry 4.0 solutions to enhance global competitiveness of Indian industry.

NIQR & C4i4 have signed an MOU to jointly drive Quality for Industry 4.0 across the Nation; i.e, to facilitate Indian manufacturing sector with a platform for Industry 4.0 implementation and to provide the necessary support for its adoption; to make Indian Industry technologically at par with global standards.

 

NIQR had conducted “Awareness Program on Industry 4.0” for Engineering Colleges for the last two years and so far had sensitised more than 10000 Students. As the students showed lot of interest in the programs, NIQR decided to conduct the program exclusively for NIQR Student Chapters.

Participation was by invitation from NIQR and there were 28 students and 12 staff from eight Engineering Colleges.

 

Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar, National Secretary welcomed the students and staff and explained the benefits they will get from this program and introduced the speakers.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. S. Rajasekaran, National President; he dwelled on the space created by NIQR in the last two years; NIQR has sensitised more than 12000 minds in Industries and Institutions through its Awareness Program on Industry 4.0.

Mr. D. S. Navalgundkar started with the evolution of Industry 4.0 and explained how the Indian Industry is slowly adopting it; he dwelled on the components of Industry 4.0 and C4i4 can help in MSMEs.

Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar proposed the vote of thanks.

The students and staff showed great interest in the program and interacted with the faculty for close to 30 minutes after the program and requested NIQR to organise such useful programs regularly.
