Guest Lecture on Industry 5.0 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattangulathur
A Guest Lecture on “Industry 5.0 and its Penetration in Various Sectors” was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattangulathur, on 18th February 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The faculty, Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar, National Council Member, NIQR, engaged with 70 energetic second- and third-year Mechanical Engineering students along with respected faculty members.
The students demonstrated an excellent understanding of Industry 4.0, necessitating only a brief recap of the evolution from Industry 1.0 to Industry 5.0.
The primary focus was on Industry 5.0 — moving beyond automation toward a future that is human-centric, sustainable, resilient, and purpose-driven. The concepts were brought to life through more than 40 thoughtfully compiled videos, allowing students to visualize real-world transformations across sectors such as
- Education 5.0
- Quality 5.0
- Agriculture 5.0
- Construction 5.0
- Maintenance 5.0
- Healthcare 5.0
- Sports 5.0
- Logistics 5.0
The session evolved into an engaging exchange of ideas, marked by analytical questions and meaningful discussions — showcasing the confidence and capability of India’s future engineers.
This lecture marks NIQR’s 69th program on Industry 4.0/5.0. To date, 15,727 minds have been sensitized to the evolving industrial revolution — each session adding momentum to a larger national mission of preparing India for Industry 5.0.
The program was meticulously organized and coordinated by Professor Dr. T. Rajasekaran and Assistant Professor Dr. E. Vijayaragavan, whose commitment to academic excellence made the session highly impactful.
The journey continues — powered by knowledge, guided by purpose, and inspired by national pride.
