Seventh Annual Competition on Six Sigma / TASK ACHIEVING Case Study Presentation
NIQR HQ organised its 7th Annual Competition on Six Sigma Case Study Presentation on 19th & 20th November 2021 in virtual mode.
In the inaugural function, Dr. V. Swaminathan, Senior National Vice President, NIQR and one of the Program Directors welcomed the gathering. He detailed the purpose of NIQR recognizing the need for enhancing the knowledge and skills of the Employees of various Manufacturing, IT and Service organizations in Six Sigma / TASK ACHIEVING methodology. He added NIQR is pleased to provide help to various organisations in the Quality Front. He also expressed happiness at the large registration of teams (44) and some delegates from various organizations.
Dr. A. Sanjeeva Rao, Past National President, Mr. R. Mohana Krishnan, National Council Member, Mr. V. Raghavan, National Treasurer and Mr. R. Anadakumar, National Council Member were the Jury Members.
Dr. A. Sanjeeva Rao, also one of the Program Directors explained the details of evaluation in DMAIC and TASK ACHIEVING methodologies.
Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar, National Secretary, NIQR explained in detail the order of presentations and the process followed in finalising the same.
Vote of thanks was given by Mr. S. Murugan, Vice-Chairman, NIQR Chennai Branch.
The virtual presentations spread over two days went off well as per the schedule without any technical hitch, excellently steered by Mr. V. Raghavan, Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar and Mr. Raj Srinivasan, CEO & Mentor of NIQR as Admin.
The Valedictory Function was held on 27th November 2021 at Hotel Accord Metropolitan, it was a great sight to have 120+ Guests in person who have come braving the inclement weather respecting NIQR’s invitation; the evening also featured the presentation of Certificates to the participants of 2nd Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Couse and felicitations to the outgoing Chairpersons of NIQR, Mr. S. Rajasekaran and Mr. R. Sethuraman.
Mr. Raj Srinivasan, CEO & Mentor of NIQR as MC excelled in the seamless conducting of three events in one stage and made the participants forget the pandemic and transportation worries during their stay.
Dr. V. Swaminathan in the welcome address gave an elaborate and useful insight of the event touching upon various innovative ideas in resolving customer complaints by some of the teams.
Feedback about the program was shared by many participants including Ms. Shanthi of Kauvery Hospital, Mr. Venkatesh of Besmak, Mr. Rakesh of Kostal and Mr. Murugesan Director Stanadyne.
Dr. A. Sanjeeva Rao in his feedback to the participants on behalf of all juries shared about the overall performance of the teams and highlighted that the level of preparation for the project, analysis and use of new and appropriate tools have gone up several notches over the years.
Mr. K. Manikandan, National President stirred everyone’s mind with his thought-provoking presidential address; as the hall reverberated, all these young minds will contribute in uplifting Indian Industry to make Indian Quality count in the Global level.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Sanjay Chadda, Managing Director, Stanadyne India Pvt. Ltd. touched on the lockdown induced economic slide and advocated bureaucrats using six sigma concepts to address such calamities; he hoped all teams would be taking home plenty of new knowledge which they can put into practice in their own organisations.
The Chief Guest and other Dignitaries presented the Awards to all the teams besides presenting the Certificates to the participants of 2nd Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Couse and felicitating the outgoing Chairpersons of NIQR, Mr. S. Rajasekaran and Mr. R. Sethuraman with albums.
Totally 25 Platinum, 17 Gold and 2 Silver Awards were presented to the teams.
